Homegrown Songwriters At The World Famous Nashville Palace

Hey, blogger friends! Songwriters from North Alabama were invited by James Breedwell to do a showcase at his Nashville Palace Open Mic Series. Mr. Breedwell has a show every night somewhere in Nashville! Our friend, Doug Budzak of Uncle Bethel and Rockit Juice Audio, coordinated the hour and half show. It was a lot of fun. We are scheduled to go back for another showcase in March. I’ll let everyone know when that’s scheduled and if you are in the area please drop by to see us.

I hope you enjoy these videos from our showcase.

I've finished writing a batch of new songs with my guitar ... they're ready for copyright and registration.

iPOP! Los Angeles 2010

m_96b86c5190e549b6865634a525ac6ebb
iPOP! in Los Angeles was a wonderful opportunity and an awesome experience! I loved it… every minute. I am so blessed. Where ever my music takes me, I meet the nicest people and make friends… lots of internet friends, too.

m_5a36cbf19baf4a3a95fada89579ff6eeDid a little sight-seeing before the work started…

JRP Birmingham Team … we had a great time at several “boot camps” last fall and winter getting ready for iPOP! We competed with each other, and against each other during iPOP!competitions, but still encouraged and supported each other… that’s what friends do….right? Should I tell you now that competition was stiff? Oh ye-ah!

Evelyn (Oneonta, Alabama) and I were paired together during “boot camp” and did an audition situation-scene together. Fun to work with. We made each other laugh and it was hard to stay focused without breaking up!

Ethan (Addison, Alabama) carried away almost all the top male awards! He went to boot camp at first just to act, but when Whitney saw him she said modeling, modeling! He did and he won! He and his mom, Kathy are like family now.

m_6b0d3225addd4a1bb2983569bbb13d47I was blessed to place in the top ten in iSING! and top ten in TV Commercial/Beauty! Got 8 singing callbacks and two acting callbacks.

Chris was an iPOP! “staffer” and helped contestants line up, etc. He helped me with my guitar…

This elegant dessert served at the awards banquet was yummy. In fact the whole trip and experience was yummy! I’m ready to go back! Back to school and rehearsals!

Hey, everybody, I'll be in Nashville tonight at The World Famous Nashville Palace singing with a bunch of Huntsville songwriters. If you're in that area drop in from 7 - 8:30 and say "hello!"

Update From Los Angeles

Hey, everybody! Things have been real crazy and busy over the past weeks. I haven't updated this blog in a while. Christmas was wonderful. I didn't take much of a Christmas break but it was still a lot of fun with family and some friends. Santa Claus brought me a Blackberry! Yea! I can get on the internet, email, etc. with it!

The first semester in my home school program is finished! I'm still loving it and doing great...
I've already been in school more hours than kids in public school... read more books.

RIGHT NOW, I'm in Los Angeles for iPOP!

Thanks to everyone who made this trip possible. It's busy right now with workshops and the auditions have started. I'll try to give some details when I get home. We got here Thursday afternoon and I'll head back home on Wednesday. Please send your prayers and good thoughts my way.
Thanks!

Update!!

Hey, everybody! It's me! MaryJustice...

I guess you can tell that I haven't updated this blog on a regular basis lately. I'm busy with my home school program. Loving it! I've knocked out the English course for the whole year and am into World History. I have time to work on writing songs, learning guitar and keyboard and so many things now that I didn't have time for in public school. I have read more books in the past couple of months than I had time for in a whole year of public school. My course curriculum is college preparatory. Have I mentioned that I am enrolled in two home school programs? I know it sounds crazy but that's the way it has to work. Did I already say, "I'm loving it?"

iPOP! 2010, Los Angeles in January. For the past few months we've made trips to iPOP! Boot Camp in preparation for the week-long convention. It will be a full five days of seminars, auditions, etc. with a schedule from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and possibly later. Please wish me good luck! I'm competing in acting, singing and TV commercial categories. Guess you can tell I'm excited. I've met some great people and looking forward to meeting more at iPOP!

Hey, come on by the Coffee Tree on December 4th. Uncle Bethel has invited me to perform with them and Ken Cooper for another great showcase. Uncle Bethel has put together another awesome lineup of songs with our original music, country covers, oldies but goodies and Christmas music. Go over to Homegrown Songwriters for details of the show.

Talk to you later!

Thank you to everyone for tossing money into the "tip bucket".... woo-hoo!

I'm on my way to iPOP! Boot Camp for the day and then a stop off to see my beautiful cousin, Tiffany, in a Beauty Pageant later tonight!
