So Much To Share!

Hello to all my blogger buddies. Time can really get away from us. I've been busy with school and bunches of other things.

First, let me share with you this awesome song by For King & Country. It really speaks to me and I hope it will speak to you as well. Note: Joel and Luke of For King & Country are younger brothers of Rebecca St. James, award-winning recording artist, writer, actress. Rebecca started "opening" for singers at age 12. The family moved from Australia to Nashville when Rebecca was in her teens... record deal! :)

Friday night, December 7th, 6:00 - 8:00 join me to kick off the new Huntsville Songwriter's Round at Emma's on Pratt Avenue. Mrs. Klein, owner of Emma's Tea Room saw the need for more venues for us songwriters and did not waste any time setting things up. So, come join us for an evening of songs with a good variety of pop, country, Christian, Americana!

MaryJustice Lucas (me), Larry Cole, Marge Loveday,
Megan McMillan, Ron Brown, Karen Newsum,
Laura Lynn Hardy, Matt Morrow and Emma Klein.

So, after the fun of Friday night, I'm off to UAH for a fun morning of ACT testing! But for now, off to church!

Emma Klein

Those of you who have been reading my blog for the past several years know I started singing songs I wrote in public when I was 13, and really jumped into it full force at age 14. I would like to introduce, Emma Klein, another 14 year-old songwriter who is has jumped into the business with eyes wide-open! This is our second show together and expect to see more! I am so pleased to introduce Emma to my Blogger Sphere! We are totally different in genres and vocals so expect some great variety! We look forward to this show and seeing you there!

So if you are in the area, drop in for some great coffee and entertainment.

Here is a video of  "Surrendering" from The Rutledge a couple of weeks ago. I have a new YouTube Channel that is for live performances only. I have playlists of originals and some covers as well as playlists of duets with some of my fellow songwriters. We have so much fun singing together. I hope you will enjoy this song. But, please don't forget to watch MaryJustice Lucas Official Channel. New Pro-videos soon! (Turn off the player in the sidebar.)

Veteran's Day 2012! Just Saying "Thank You" Does Not Seem To Be Enough!

In times of peace it operates as part of the Department of Homeland Security, serving as the nation's front-line agency for enforcing the nation's laws at sea, protecting the marine environment and the nation's vast coastline and ports, and saving life.  In times of war, or at the direction of the President, the Coast Guard serves as part of the Navy Department.

On March 5, the U.S. Navy Seabees celebrate their 70th birthday. Well into their seventh decade, the Seabees of today continue the hard work of their predecessors from World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Somalia and Bosnia.

The merchant marine is a civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Navy, but not a uniformed service, except in times of war when, in accordance with the Merchant Marine Act of 1936, mariners are considered military personnel. In a time of "national emergency", the President can permanently seize any merchant marine vessel.

B.A.T.L.E. AIDS - Teens Awareness

"I had the best time at the B.A.T.L.E. AIDS (Bands, Awareness, Teens & Live Entertainment) event at Lowe Mill Entertainment Center! An important message for all teens to hear.

SO MUCH TALENT: Boats Against Current,  Saints Don't Grieve, Kids Full of Cars, Izzy Miller & Smokin' Joe Gambrell , and The Ledges!

And so many sweet and amazing people! I just want to say thank you to everyone and for all your kind words.

Megan PlotkaCassidy RobyJames Park, me and Hazel Sarmiento

Thank you, Teen Council, for inviting me and creating such a wonderful event! Thank you Cassidy Roby and Hazel Sarmiento for making the night even more fun! Love ya'll!

It was so good to see Dalton Tibbles, Maddie Davie, and Mason Baumann! Thank you, James Park, for your support and kind words! You are so sweet!

Megan Plotka, thank you! When you said that my music made you feel something, you made my night!

I've always said even if I never make it big with my music career, win an AMA or a Grammy (haha), or walk the red carpet, if I can write music that makes people feel something, then I am completely satisfied and happy. That's exactly what I want to do as a performing songwriter :) So thank you so much for telling me that! God has blessed me so much and continues to bless me.

May all the glory be HIS
Sincerely,
MaryJustice

Time For A Commercial!!

Hello to all my Blogger Buddies! I would love for you to help me out. I need a big bunch of subscribers to my YouTube Channel and lots of plays on my videos. New videos will go up soon, hopefully of my original songs. And, while I'm doing this "commercial," I would love for you to "fan" me on ReverbNation, and LIKE  my Facebook Music Page with a big "thumbs up." Your support means to much to me. I notice you are stopping by to visit my blog, but would really love to get some comments from everyone!

This video was shot by one of my YouTube and Facebook friends, Stephen Wong from Philadelphia. He happened to be in Nashville pitching one of his songs and came to the Hotel Indigo to hear me. It is so nice to "run into" someone you only "see" on Facebook! Thanks, Mr. Wong!  I wrote this song after my friend called one day to tell me she met this neat boy that she really liked. She told me all his great qualities and then said "I never know when he's telling the truth." I didn't think that was a good thing, but it inspired me to write this song! That's what songwriters do ... if it makes us feel ... good, bad, hurt, or even  indifferent, we write about it! :)

Cover video of ColdPlay's Fix You ... my first "pro" video. Had a great crew on this video. Took about 45 minutes for Jeff Wyatt Wilson of Nashville to shoot this. He was great to work with. I'm playing guitar, but Charles Jones, the boss, is playing  lead guitar on this. Eric Nelson  on drums and my back-up singer.

So, thanks for stopping by. Gotta run. On Saturday, November 3rd, if you are looking for something nice to do and are nearby, drop by The Hilltop Arts Festival in Historic Downtown Elkmont, Alabama. No flea market stuff here ... all art by local artists and music all day. I'm singing around 3:30. Opens at 9:00 am and ends with poetry reading in the Red Caboose that evening.

'Til next time ... love you guys!
